Application Status Tracking by SMS
We are pleased to inform that applicants now have the opportunity of tracking the status of visa applications from the convenience
of their Mobile Phones. Kindly note that this Value added service would be available to applicants residing in South Africa only (LOCAL SMS ONLY).
Applicants residing outside South Africa can continue to access our Website Tracking or Call up our Helpline +27 839133636 to track the status of their application.
Please note the procedure to be followed for utilizing the SMS Tracking Facility to track the status of your visa application.
- Go to “New Messages” in your Mobile.
- Type AUS <space> <Your Passport Number> and send it 36726 * Examples are illustrated below:
- AUS 12345678 & send it to 36726
- AUS AN123456 & send it to 36726
* VAS rates apply - SMS Charged at 5 Rand per SMS
- Every time you send a SMS, you will get a message back from us relaying the status of the case. Examples are illustrated below:
- If your application has been submitted by VFS to the Australian High Commission & if it has not been processed yet by the Australian High Commission, you will get the following message
“Application has been dispatched to the Australian High Commission on <date>”
- If your application has been processed by the Australian High Commission & sent back to VFS, you will get the following message
“Passport has been received at the Australian Visa Application Centre and is ready for collection”
- If your application has been processed & dispatched by the Australian High Commission & if you had opted for a direct courier delivery, you will get the following message
“Passport has been handed over to courier company by Australian High Commission on <date>”
