Australian Visa Application Charges applicable from 1 July 2010 - 31 December 2010

This site is applicable to all residents of South Africa and residents of some other countries who are eligible to apply for an Australian visa in South Africa. It will introduce you to the procedures involved in the visa application process.

Change in payment procedure effective 28th May 09

THE AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION ADVISES THAT DUE TO AUSTRALIAN FINANCIAL LEGISLATION, IT CAN ONLY ACCEPT PAYMENT OF THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT VISA APPLICATION CHARGE/FEE IN THE FORM OF A BANK ISSUED CHEQUE. THE BANK ISSUED CHEQUE MUST BE IN SOUTH AFRICAN RAND, MADE PAYABLE TO 'AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION'. NOTE THAT THE AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSION CANNOT ACCEPT CHEQUE IN ANY CURRENCY OTHER THAN RAND, AND IT CANNOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHEQUE

  • Australian Government visa application fee to be paid by a bank issued cheque made payable to ‘Australian High Commission’
  • The VFS administration fee should be paid separately into the VFS bank account (payment options detailed below)
  • Please provide the original bank issued cheque (for the visa application fee) and the original proof of payment (for the VFS administration fee) to VFS at time of application
